EGX trades sideways, benchmark up 1.55% over past week

CAIRO – 13 May 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes showed mixed performance
during last week’s transactions.

The benchmark EGX30 index surged 1.55 percent, standing at 12,907 points, the EGX said Thursday in its weekly report.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap enterprises EGX70 index declined 0.79 percent, registering 587 points, while the all-embracing EGX100 index was almost flat, increasing only 0.01 percent, totaling 1,360 points.

Market capitalization was up 1.2 percent, reaching nearly 667 billion EGP ($36.95 billion).

Total turnover registered 5 billion EGP, compared to 16.2 billion EGP over the previous week.
