CAIRO - 17 march 2018: Communications Minister Yasser el-Kadi discussed with Ali Saleh, the Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of General Electric (GE) Digital Middle East, Africa and Turkey, means of boosting bilateral cooperation.

Talks touched on establishing joint projects based on advanced software and applications, with the view of providing smart solutions and mechanisms that would contribute to the implementation of the state's strategy aiming at achieving digital transformation, read a statement released by the ministry on Saturday.

Kadi reviewed the state's strategy for digital transformation, highlighting plans of action connected to setting up a "Knowledge City" in the New Administrative Capital, that is expected to be a beacon of creativity that would attract the best qualified young cadres.

Kadi pointed out that cooperation with the GE Company in the coming period will include its provision of technological expertise needed for upgrading the modern technological system of Egypt's medical care sector.

The coming phase will also see close cooperation between Cairo and EG Company to internalize technology and digital solutions, he said, adding that means of working together as partners in implementing the Knowledge City project were also tackled.

For his side, Saleh voiced the company's keenness on offering its innovative technologies to contribute to the implementation of Egypt's strategy for the digital transformation
