CAIRO – 29 January 2018: The Egyptian Salts and Minerals Company (EMISAL) is planning to establish an industrial complex to produce salts in the northern area of Lake Qaroun in Mersa Matrouh, with a total investment of LE 6 billion.

EMISAL targets to establish this industrial complex, in cooperation with Matrouh Governorate and the National Service Projects Organization.

Chairman of EMISAL Abdul Latif al Kordy said that the company is conducting trial operations in the area, and expecting to complete the trials within two-three months.

Kordy added that the expected production capacity of the project is 600,000 tons of salts per year, in addition to cultivating 15,000 feddans and establishing fish farms.

The company will cooperate with the National Service Projects Organization and the Matrouh Governorate to complete the project.

Moreover, Mersa Matruh Governor Alaa Abu Zaid signed Monday an investment agreement with Madar Company for Touristic Villages and Investment to set up an integrated investment project in Dabaa, worth LE 10 billion on an area of 2.14 million square meters.
