CAIRO - 12 September 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will meet a number of U.S. companies in Washington D.C. on September 18, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) announced Tuesday.

President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, Tarek Tawfik, said that this will be a part of Sisi's visit to the U.S. later this month.

Tawfik made the statements during a conference organized by the chamber Tuesday in Cairo, under the title of “Embracing the Future: Unlocking Egypt's Investment Potential”.

The conference hosted Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr, who briefed major American companies with the latest economic milestones taken to improve the investment climate such as the New Investment Law and the Industrial Permits Act.

During her speech, Nasr said that the ministry is currently drafting a new Companies Law, which she said will act as a governance tool to all companies operating in Egypt.

Nasr also said that a new law for microfinance is under drafting, "to encourage small and medium enterprises boom in Egypt through providing them with the needed funding tool," she said.
