CAIRO – 31 August 2017: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) pumped LE 2 billion of new banknotes of different categories to meet demands of Eid Al-Adha holidays, the bank’s Vice Chairperson Yehia Aboul Fotouh said Thursday.

Distributed through money transfer companies, Aboul Fotouh told Egypt Today that the value was injected in more than 3,500 ATMs across Egypt.

The volume of the loan portfolio of the NBE hiked to LE 400 billion ($22.5 billion) by the end of the fiscal year (FY) 2016/2017. Deposits at NBE are expected to record LE 850 billion in FY 2016/2017, up from LE 558 billion by the end of June 2016.
