Oil minister discusses cooperation with Fluor Corporation

CAIRO – 19 July 2017: Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla held a meeting with president of Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business in Europe, Africa and Middle East Al Collins on Wednesday, according to a Wednesday ministerial statement.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed the company’s strategy regionally and internationally and its business fields in Egypt, in addition to future cooperation with Enppi and Petrojet Egyptian petroleum companies, through a joint consortium.

Moreover, the oil minister discussed cooperation on petroleum and mineral resources with Australian Ambassador to Egypt Neil Hawkins on Wednesday, a statement read.

Both parties also talked about the best ways to benefit from the investment opportunities and the Australian technology and experience currently used in the petroleum and mineral resources sector.

Molla mentioned the steps taken to encourage investments in Egypt, including the lately issued two laws. The minister also presented the results of the recent gold mining exploration tender.

The ambassador expressed his country’s concern to invest in Egypt, praising the new investment atmosphere and the positive indices achieved lately by the petroleum ministry.

Hawkins also invited Molla to attend the International Mining and Resources Conference to be held in Melbourne in November.
