Egypt's imports of tea remarkably increase in 1st 8 months of 2022: CAPMAS

CAIRO - 24 November 2022: Egyptian imports of tea have achieved a remarkable increase during the recent period, as the data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics monitored an increase in total imports during the first 8 months of this year 2022, compared to the same period in 2021.
 
The agency's data showed that total tea imports recorded around 217 million and 371 thousand dollars in 2022, compared to 175 million and 191 thousand dollars, in the same period in 2021, making an increase of 42 million and 180 thousand dollars.
 
Egypt's tea imports have witnessed a noticeable variation since the beginning of this year, as the value of tea imports in August alone amounted to about 16 million and 386 thousand dollars, compared to 14 million and 893 thousand dollars in the same month in 2021, an increase of about one million and 493 thousand dollars. While Imports witnessed a decline in other periods, as the total value of tea imports last May amounted to about 22 million and 544 thousand dollars, while it was about 27 million and 79 thousand dollars in May 2021, with a decline of about 4 million and 535 thousand dollars.
 
Tea was imported into the list of the most important Egyptian imports of non-durable consumer goods last August, whose total value amounted to one billion and 168 million dollars, compared to one billion and 404 million dollars in the same month in 2021, with a decline of about 235 million and 473 thousand dollars.
