EGX ends week in green, market cap gains LE4.34B

CAIRO – 20 October 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 4.34 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.15 percent, or 117.19 points, to end at 10,273.53 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.65 percent, or 12.59 points, to end at 1,953.54 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.75 percent, or 16.65 points, to close at 2,223.35 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.84 percent, or 26.36 points, at 3,180.58 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 4.34 billion, recording LE 710.81 billion, compared to LE 706.46 billion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 562.75 million shares, traded through 43,910 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.18 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 258.45 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 61.03 million, and LE 197.42 million, respectively.
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 911,074, and LE 10.26 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 53.95 million.
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 7.08 million, and LE 198.33 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 248.19 million.
 
El Obour Real Estate Investment, Egyptian for Tourism Resorts, and Belton Financial Holding were top gainers of the session at 10.23 percent, 8.13 percent and 7.55 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Egyptian Real Estate Group, Nasr Company for Civil Works, and Egyptian Financial & Industrial were top losers of the session by 4.78 percent, 3.26 percent, and 3.19 percent, respectively.
 
On Wednesday, EGX ended the session on a mixed note, as: EGX30 inched down 0.07 percent, EGX 70 declined 0.37 percent, and EGX 100 dropped 0.36 percent, while EGX 50 rose 0.09 percent.
