Egyptian, Arab purchases push EGX towards uptrend for 3rd session

CAIRO – 18 October 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) traded in the green zone for the third session in a row, adding around LE 2.86 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab organizational purchases.

 

The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.15 percent, or 15.16 points, to end at 10,163.56 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.55 percent, or 10.63 points, to end at 1,939.17 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.85 percent, or 18.67 points, to close at 2,214.92 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.58 percent, or 18.38 points, at 3,165.71 points.

 

Market capitalization gained around LE 2.86 billion, recording LE 706.35 billion, compared to LE  703.49 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 581.92 million shares, traded through 51,110 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.25 billion.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 45.77 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 19.48 million, and LE 26.29 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 51.63 million, and LE 8,752, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 104,825.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 71.11 million, and LE 26.3 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 45.88 million.

 

Kafr El Zayat Pesticides, Egypt Aluminum, and MM Group for Industry and International Trade were top gainers of the session at 20 percent, 19.96 percent and 8.25 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Alexandria Mineral Oils Company, Abou Kir Fertilizers, and the Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy - Panda were top losers of the session by 11.01 percent, 7.19 percent, and 5.13 percent, respectively.

 

On Monday, EGX ended the session in the green zone, as: EGX30 increased 0.99 percent, EGX 50 rose 1.19 percent, EGX 70 hiked 0.44 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 0.69 percent.
