CAIRO, Oct 11 (MENA) – Finance Minister Mohamed Ma'ait will be taking part in annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group, which will kick start in Washington later Tuesday.

Themed “Unity in a time of crises”, the meetings are meant to exchange views about and ideas of effective solutions to problems caused by successive global economic crises.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement Tuesday, said Ma’ait will hold bilateral talks with a number of WB officials and African counterparts to discuss the global financial landscape and economic challenges in Africa.

Ma’ait will also meet with finance ministers of different world countries to review a plan to counter climate change, and efforts for the economies to go green.

The minister will also get together with Elena Flores, the EU Deputy-Director General for Economic and Financial Affairs, to discuss economic and structural reforms in Egypt.

Ma’ait is also set to attend a number of roundtables organized by giant international companies and rating institutions, such as Fitch, Standard and Poor’s, Moody’s and Morgan Stanley.

The IMF-World Bank Group annual meetings will wrap up on October 15.
