CAIRO - 14 September 2022: Three memoranda of understanding have been signed by Egypt and Qatar in a high-profile visit by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to Doha.

A memorandum of understanding on port cooperation was signed by the two states on Wednesday.

Another was signed by the Egyptian Sovereign Fund and the Qatari Sovereign Authority.

And the third was signed by the Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Qatari Ministry of Social Development.

The two visits mark a major leap in relations after several years of stagnation.

While Qatar expressed deep interest in investing in Egypt, the latter showed openness to Qatari business in the country, according to Wednesday statements by the Egyptian presidential spokesperson.
