CAIRO –  7 July 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended the last session of the week in the green zone, adding around LE 3.88 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 1.09 percent, or 94.13 points, to end at 8,764.25 points.
 
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 0.67 percent, or 10.61 points, to end at 1,585.74 points.
 
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.47 percent, or 24.55 points, to close at 1,693.76 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 1.22 percent, or 29.89 points, to close at 2,484.55 points.
 
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 3.88 billion, recording LE 597.68 billion, compared to LE 593.8 billion in Wednesday’s session.
 
 
The trading volume reached 395.44 million shares, traded through 28,291 transactions, with a turnover of LE 547.19 million.
 
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 39.1 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 36.93 million, and LE 2.17 million, respectively.
 
 
Arab and foreign individuals were net sellers at LE 1.03 million, and LE 803,219, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were buyers at LE 1.15 million.
 
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 35.78 million, and LE 3.2 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 38.3 million.
 
 
Lecico Egypt, Taaleem Management Services, and Egyptians Housing Development & Reconstruction were top gainers of the session at 7.91 percent, 7.86 percent and 5.81 percent, respectively.
 
 
Meanwhile, Arab Aluminum, Arab Real Estate Investment CO.-ALICO, and Speed Medical were top losers of the session by 13.46 percent, 6.84 percent, and 5.11 percent, respectively.
 
The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will be off for five days, starting from  Sunday, July 10, till Thursday, July 14, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha holiday.
 
 
 
Eid al-Adha marks the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God's command. That’s why it's also called the "Festival of the Sacrifice". It is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year, and considered the holier of the two. Moreover, Muslims perform their Hajj, which is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, during Eid Al-Adha.  
 
 
 
Trading will resume on Sunday, July 17, according to the EGX statement.
