CAIRO - 27 June 2022: Tax revenues increased by 16.2 percent during the period (July-May) 2021/2022, to record LE 816 billion, compared to LE 702 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance said Monday.
 
The Ministry of Finance stated, in a report, that tax receipts from sovereign authorities increased by about LE 12.3 billion, or 11.8 percent, to reach LE 117 billion during 11 months, compared to about LE 104.7 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
 
It added that tax receipts from non-sovereign entities increased by about LE 102 billion, or 17 percent, to LE 699 billion, compared to LE 597.5 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
 
Tax receipts from value-added tax increased by LE 59.9 billion, marking an increase of 18.2 percent, to reach LE 389.3 billion, this is due to an increase in the proceeds from the value-added tax on goods by 13.6 percent to reach LE 179.4 billion, and an increase in the proceeds from the value-added tax on services by 34.2 percent to LE 53 billion.
