CAIRO - 26 June 2022: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al Moseilhi said on Sunday that some 3.920 million tons of local wheat have been received so far recording a rise between 11 percent and 12 percent from last year.
At a press conference, the minister said wheat delivery will continue till the end of August.
He added the current global food crisis pushed the wheat prices from between $300 and $320 per ton to between $480 and $490 per ton, which means that there is an increase estimated at LE 18 billion.
Moselhi added that the new budget of 2022//2023 witnessed a major increase in subsidy allocations.
