CAIRO - 11 June 2022: Major General Mohamed Abdel Rahim Hamid, head of the Red Sea Ports Authority, affirmed the Egyptian state's keenness to develop seaports "as an important factor to the development of the Egyptian economy."
 
He pointed out that the authority is currently studying the establishment of modern naval arsenals to build and repair ships in accordance with the directives of the political leadership.
 
During his inspection of Port Tawfiq Maritime, in the presence of Major General Khaled Mubarak, advisor to the Minister of Transport for projects, he said that "the authority is striving to develop work in Port Tawfiq port, where the development of the port's traffic tower has been completed and initially handed over to the authority."
 
He indicated that he discussed with the Minister of Transport's advisor the existing development works at the port and reviewed the works to be developed in the next stage.
 
The head of the Red Sea Ports Authority and the advisor to the Minister of Transport visited the northern berth to inspect the locations of future projects on the ground, and they moved to the southern berth in Port Tawfiq Port and paid a visit to the floating dock in the arsenal.
 
Major General Khaled Mubarak, advisor to the Minister of Transport for projects, praised the authority's future plans in Port Tawfiq port to promote the port and re-operate it because of the port's economic importance to the people of Suez.
