CAIRO –  24 May 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in the red zone, losing around LE 5.7 billion of market capitalization, amid foreign selling.
 
 
The benchmark EGX30 dipped 0.95 percent, or 99.41 points, to end at 10,415.54 points.
 
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 declined 1.29 percent, or 23.52 points, to end at 1,796.87 points.  
 
 
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 decreased 0.59 percent, or 10.95 points, to close at 1,832.57 points, and the broader index EGX 100 dropped 0.88 percent, or 10.95 points, to close at 2,750.63 points.
 
 
 
Market capitalization lost around LE 5.7 billion, recording LE 683.11 billion, compared to LE 688.82 billion in Monday’s session.
 
 
The trading volume reached 320.62 million shares, traded through 28,595 transactions, with a turnover of LE 608.68 million.
 
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 65.78 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 37.19 million, and LE 28.58 million, respectively.
 
 
 
Egyptian and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 7.48 million, and LE 406,031, respectively, while Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 10.19 million.
 
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 29.7 million,and LE 38.78 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 66.18 million.
 
 
Egyptian Transport (EGYTRANS), Nasr Company for Civil Works, and Tenth Of Ramadan Pharmaceutical Industries & Diagnostic-Rameda were top gainers of the session at 10.29 percent, 3.85 percent and 3.70 percent, respectively.
 
 
Meanwhile, Delta Insurance, Medical Packaging Company, and Ibnsina Pharma were top losers of the session by 13.90 percent, 10.09 percent, and 6.96 percent, respectively.
