CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail discussed with Minister of Agriculture Abdel Mon’em el Banna preparations for inaugurating the 19th International Exhibition for the Management and Production of Poultry, Livestock and Fish (AGRENA), said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Livestock and Fisheries Affairs.

The two sides also discussed the agriculture ministry’s plan to invest in poultry, Mona Mehrez said during a press conference Thursday.

The prime minister has tasked the agriculture minister with inaugurating AGRENA on Thursday, in which 620 companies will take part representing 18 countries, she said.

The three-day event will include everything related to slaughterhouses in addition to the veal project, provided by a loan from the Central Bank of Egypt with a five-percent interest rate in order to encourage the youth to invest in the sector, she added.

Meanwhile, Mehrez noted that Egypt is self-sufficient in poultry, producing about 1.3 billion hens.
