Planning Ministry: General investments in Giza governorate amount to LE 66.05B in FY 2021/2022

CAIRO - 14 April 2022: The Planning and Economic Development Ministry announced on Thursday that the general investments directed to Giza governorate in the 2021-22 fiscal year reach LE 66.05 billion.
 
This came as the ministry reviewed the investment citizen plan in Giza governorate of the fiscal year 2021-22 after launching the citizen plan for the third year in row.
 
In statements, Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed said the sustainable development plan of 2021/2022 fiscal year attaches importance to different governorates to achieve a swift and tangible development and it focuses on general investments in the fields of infrastructure, social and economic in order to benefit all citizens nationwide especially youths, women and people with special abilities.
 
She said the Citizen Investment Plan is an important database that helps citizens follow up under-construction projects in their governorates to guarantee their high-level implementation.
 
The minister explained that the plan provides detailed information on the most important development indicators in each governorate and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (21/2022).
 
The “Citizen Investment Plan” also provides information on the investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "a Decent Life", the distribution of these investments among the various sectors, and the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current state of development in each sector.
 
A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth LE 41.58 billion will be directed to developing the transport sector in the governorate with 63 percent while 12.76 billion to be channeled to housing and development of slums with 19 percent.
 
LE 4.17 billion will be allocated to the antiquities sector with 7 percent, LE 2.12 billion to higher education with 3 percent, LE 1.2 billion to pre-university education and LE 4.22 billion to other sectors.
