CAIRO - 10 April 2022: Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said the Egyptian economy has the ability to deal flexibly with current challenges, especially in light of repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis due to economic reform programs the government introduced over the past period.

During a meeting Sunday with Swedish ambassador in Cairo Hakan Emsgard and representatives of Swedish companies operating in Egypt, the minster reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to press ahead with efforts meant to create an ameliorate atmosphere for luring investments and incentivizing the private sector; being the wheel for economic growth and key provider of job opportunities.

All measures come in line with the State's keenness on promoting investments and removing all obstacles impeding the investment process, as well as realizing Egypt Vision 2030, with a view to achieving overall sustainable development, Maait said.

He also welcomed bolstering cooperation with Swedish companies in the various domains.

For his part, the Swedish ambassador in Cairo stressed his country's interest in beefing up economic and trade ties with Egypt, especially in light of current economic reforms introduced in the country.
