Int'l cooperation minister lauds cooperation with Germany

CAIRO - 24 March 2022: Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat hailed Thursday Egyptian-German economic ties highlighting the fruitful bilateral cooperation that resulted in the signing of 18 financial development agreements worth euros 202 million, with a view to supporting the State's all-out vision for development.

 

During a meeting Thursday with German Ambassador in Cairo Frank Hartmann to discuss further promoting Egyptian-German economic cooperation, along with prospects of future cooperation in the developmental sphere, the minister stressed the government's keenness on promoting ties with Germany to help propel development efforts and incentivize the private sector to overcome challenges impeding the fulfillment of the sustainable development goals.

 

The meeting is part of the International Cooperation Ministry's continued keenness on following up on ongoing cooperation in development ventures with multilateral and bilateral partners to guarantee enhancing development efforts.

 

Earlier in March, the minister inaugurated the First National Forum on the Future of Work in Egypt, organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), within the framework of bilateral cooperation under the slogan “Joining Forces For Tomorrow and Beyond”.

 

The forum was held under the auspices of the Ministry of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Manpower and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization And Statistics (CAPMAS).

 

It meant to shed light on the Egyptian-German developmental cooperation portfolio amounting to euro 1.7 billion that has so far contributed to financing 30 ventures covering various developmental sectors in the form of loans, technical grants, financial contributions and debt swap programs, including a two-phase debt-swap program worth euro 240 million.
