CAIRO - 15 March 2022: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat said on Tuesday that his ministry launched several initiatives and programs that aimed to support and empower Egyptian women, such as the Qodwa-Tech and Heya Raeda initiatives.
 
Delivering a speech during the ‘Women in Tech’ Summit, organized by Microsoft, Talaat praised women's strong participation in the Future Work is Digital (FWD) initiative, expressing his admiration of such an event that gathers several women pioneers in the ICT sector.
 
Talaat noted that the percentage of women who are working in the ICT sector ranges between 35 percent and 40 percent.
 
The minister added that several programs were launched for spreading digital culture and economic empowerment at villages to eliminate digital illiteracy and enhance digital skills of citizens, including women.
