Trade exchange bet. Egypt, Belgium hits $2B in 11 months

CAIRO - 16 February 2022: Trade exchange between Egypt and Belgium increased 72 percent during the first 11 months of 2021, to reach $2 billion, compared to $1.2 billion during the same period in 2020,according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
 
Data from CAPMAS showed an increase in the value of Egyptian exports by 75.5 percent, recording $411.6 million during the first 11 months of 2021, compared to $234.5 million during the same period in 2020.
 
The statistics indicated in a statement, Wednesday, that the value of Egyptian imports from Belgium amounted to $1.6 billion during the first 11 months of 2021, compared to $937.1 million during the same period in 2020, marking an increase of 71.1 percent.
 
 
The value of Belgian investments in Egypt amounted to $246.8 million during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $85.9 million during the same fiscal year 2019/2020, with an increase of 187.3 percent.
 
Remittances from Egyptians working in Belgium recorded $26.3 million during the 2019/2020 fiscal year, compared to $24.5 million during the 2018/19 fiscal year, with an increase of 7.3 percent, while the remittances of Belgians working in Egypt amounted to $1.5 million during the 2019/2020 fiscal year, compared to $1.7 million during the fiscal year 2018/2019, marking a decrease of 13.6 percent.
