CAIRO - 16 February 2022: Egypt’s exports of liquefied natural gas increased 385 percent year-on-year in 2021, the cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) announced.
In an infographic, the IDSC said that Egypt’s liquefied natural gas exports increased from 1.5 million tons in 2020 to 6.5 million tons in the following year.
The center noted that this growth rate is the highest across the world.
The IDSC attributed the increase to several factors, including the reoperation of the Damietta complex for liquefying natural gas and achieving self-sufficiency in the country.
