11 agreements, MoU signed on 2nd day of EGYPS 2022

CAIRO - 15 February 2022: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, witnessed the signing of 11 memoranda of understanding and agreements during the activities of the second day of the Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2022).

 

The agreements included a service agreement between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Baker Hughes to cooperate in the field of gas recovery and reducing carbon emissions, which was signed by geologist Alaa El-Batal, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, and Engineer Tamir Nasser, Director General of Baker Hughes Egypt, according to a statement.

 

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Schneider Electric to cooperate to implement the strategic leadership center project for the petroleum sector within the framework of the vision and plan of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for digital transformation, which was signed by geologist Alaa Al-Batal, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, and Eng. Schneider Corporation.

 

As well as a memorandum of understanding between the American company “Enppi” and “AspenTech'' to cooperate in the field of digital transformation by providing technical support in this field and providing advanced solutions for the exploitation of assets, as well as the establishment of technical workshops and training programs. The memorandum was signed by Eng. Mohamed Abdelaziz, President of Enppi , and Antonio Bakri, President of AspenTech.

 

A memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, Misr Maintenance Company and Emerson to cooperate in the field of tank level measurement projects, combustion emissions monitoring and truck loading measurement, signed by geologist Alaa Al-Batal, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, Engineer Ashraf Bahaa, President of Sun Misr, and Fedya Armans, President of Emerson Middle East.

 

Moreover, a memorandum of understanding between the Port of Antwerp and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to develop ports and support their development work, explore possibilities and follow up projects in Egyptian ports and the marine market, using Antwerp’s experience in strengthening, managing and operating ports, signed by the Ministry, Eng. Alaa Hajar, Head of the Central Department of the Technical Office, and Christopher Watershot, Director General of Antwerp Port Authority.

 

The Red Sea Petrochemical Company also signed the licensing agreement for the polyethylene unit with Univation Company, and the Red Sea Company signed the licensing agreement with Linde Company for the steam cracking unit.

 

 The Red Sea Company also signed the licensing agreement for the hexane and butene units with Axness Company. The three agreements were signed by Eng. Mohamed Abadi, President of the Red Sea Company, with the heads of the three companies.

 

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company and Wood Italiana on preparing a detailed feasibility study for the El Alamein Petrochemical Complex project in Egypt. It was signed by chemist Saad Helal, president of Echem, and Maxim Malle, director of business development at the Italian company.

 

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the heads and officials of "Enppi", "Petrojet", "Bechtel", "Baker Hughes", "General Electric", "Al-Ahly Bank" and "HSBC" with the aim of reducing carbon emissions from oil and gas facilities in Egypt, and a memorandum of understanding between the two cooperation companies for petroleum and "Chevron Egypt", to cooperate in the field of providing oils, gas station activities and trading oils and chemical products.
