Egypt's food exports to Arab Gulf countries hit $550M in 2021

CAIRO - 14 February 2022:  The Egyptian Export Council for Food Industries said on Sunday the sector’s exports to Arab Gulf countries in 2021 reached $ 550 million, representing 13 percent of total food exports that reached 4.1 billion dollars.
 
In a statement on Sunday, the council said the number of Egyptian companies that export food products to Arab Gulf countries reached 764 in 2021.
 
The UAE ranks the 13th in the list of countries importing food products from Egypt with a total exports of $124 million.
 
Chocolate is on the top of food products being exported to Arab Gulf countries to be followed by various food preparations, frozen vegetables, frozen potatoes, processed grains and processed cheese, the statement said.
