CAIRO – 27 November 2021: An official source in the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy revealed that the ministry is moving towards finishing the development work in the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Sinai.

 

The source added that an amount of 9 billion pounds has been allocated to develop electricity transmission and distribution networks in North and South Sinai.

 

The ministry is currently studying the establishment of 500-kilovolt electricity transmission lines with the aim of improving the level of service provided to the people of Sinai, explaining that the goal of these lines is also to establish an alternative circuit to the circuit of the electrical interconnection line between Egypt and Jordan to raise line capacity from 450 MW to 2000 MW.

 

The source pointed out that studies are currently being conducted to raise the capacity of the electrical interconnection line between Egypt and Jordan from 450 megawatts to 2000 megawatts, as part of the state's plan to expand electrical interconnection projects with all countries of the world.
