CAIRO – 27 October 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday on mixed note, losing around LE 1.35 billion of market capitalization, amid foreign selling.

  

The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.96 percent, or 107.66 points, to end at 11,364.2 points.

 

On the other hand, the equally weighted index EGX 50 inched down 0.02 percent, or 0.49 points, to end at 2,079.89 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dropped 0.54 percent, or 12.26 points, to close at 2,249.08 points, and the broader index EGX decreased 0.49 percent, or 15.94 points, to close at 3,230.02 points.


 

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.35 billion, recording LE 739.97 billion, compared to LE 741.32 billion in Tuesday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 532.8 million shares, traded through 42,442 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.21 billion.

 

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 14.67 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 1.69 million, and LE 12.97 million, respectively.

 

Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 198.46 million, and LE 3.34 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 596,557.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 200.16 million, and LE 16.31 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 15.26 million.

 

Arab Moltaka Investments Co, The Egyptian Company for Construction Development-Lift Slab, and The Arab Ceramic CO.- Ceramica Remas were top gainers of the session at 19.58 percent, 17.68 percent and 15.17 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, International Co for Investment & Development, El Arabia Engineering Industries, and General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction were top losers of the session by 19.99 percent, 19.93 percent, and 17.21 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Tuesday on mixed note as: EGX30 increased 0.70 percent, while EGX 50 dipped 2.10 percent, EGX 70 dropped 3.61 percent, and EGX100 decreased 2.34 percent.
