CAIRO – 8 September 2021: The first edition of Egypt International Cooperation Forum (Egypt-ICF) kicked off on Wednesday.

 

Egypt- ICF is organized by the Ministry of International Cooperation, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the participation of Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and several ministers.

 

The forum will witness high-level participation of government representatives from Africa, Europe and Latin America, heads of international and regional financial institutions, and representatives of the private sector and civil society.

 

The forum is holding its first edition under the slogan "Partnerships to Achieve Sustainable Development" and brings together the relevant parties, to promote joint action in order to support the United Nations agenda to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and mobilize international efforts to meet the challenges facing the world after the Corona pandemic and prevent the achievement of development.

 

Through the day, participants in the forum will discuss a number of issues and topics - through five dialogue sessions on the role of multilateral partnerships in post-Covid-19 reconstruction efforts, strengthening international financing mechanisms to align with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and encouraging private sector participation in development through international cooperation, The Green Transformation: Opportunities and Challenges Facing Developing Countries, in addition to a dialogue session with the private sector in light of the main role it plays in achieving development. The forum's activities will also include six workshops, organized by the Ministry of International Cooperation, with international institutions.

 

Egypt ICF concludes its work on Thursday with the issuance of a final statement on "Investing in Human Capital" and recommendations from all participants from countries, international organizations and the United Nations.

 

It also witnesses the launch of qualitative international and regional initiatives between the Ministry of International Cooperation and its partners, and reviews international experiences in the field of development cooperation, including the Egyptian experience in matching development financing with sustainable development goals and setting a framework for economic diplomacy.
