EGX ends Tuesday in red, market cap. loses LE 7.18B

CAIRO – 3 August 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in red, losing around LE 7.18 billion of market capitalization, amid foreign organizations selling.

 

The benchmark EGX30 decreased 0.88 percent, or 95.55 points, to end at 10,726.33 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 dipped 2.19 percent, or 52.21 points, to end at 2,327.39 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 declined 2.97 percent, or 83.47 points, to close at 2,730.29 points, and the broader index EGX 100 lessened 2.45 percent, or 93.27 points, to close at 3,710.11 points.

 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 7.18 billion, recording LE 703.86 billion, compared to LE 711.04 billion in Monday’s session.

 

 

The trading volume reached 485.9 million shares, traded through 63,206 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.8 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 13.16 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 2.95 million, and LE 10.21 million, respectively.

 

 

Egyptian, Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 37.81 million, LE 16.6 million, and LE 7152,873, respectively.

 

 

Egyptian, Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 34.86 million, LE 6.4 million, and LE 13.32 million, respectively.

 

Sinai Cement, Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool, and Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment were top gainers of the session at 9.89 percent, 9.59 percent and 9.15 percent, respectively.


 

Meanwhile, AJWA for Food Industries Company Egypt, National Real Estate Bank for Development, and Orascom Development Egypt were top losers of the session by 9.92 percent, 9.78 percent, and 9.32 percent, respectively.

 

 

EGX ended Monday on mixed note, as: EGX30 increased 0.11 percent, EGX 70 climbed 0.15 percent, and EGX 100 jumped 0.26 percent, while EGX 50 dipped 0.46 percent.
