EGX ends Sunday in green, market cap. gains LE5.5B

CAIRO – 1 August 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in green, adding around LE 5.5 billion to market capitalization, amid Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 increased 0.63 percent, or 67.98 points, to end at 10,810.21 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 0.56 percent, or 13.4 points, to end at 2,390.5 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 climbed 1.66 percent, or 45.88 points, to close at 2,809.46 points, and the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.38 percent, or 51.61 points, to close at 3,793.61 points.

Market capitalization gained around LE 5.53 billion, recording LE 707.15 billion, compared to LE 701.62 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 574.69 million shares, traded through 61,401 transactions, with a turnover of LE 2.26 billion.

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 370.4 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 314.83 million, and LE 55.57 million, respectively.

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 7.03 million, and LE 1.41 million, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net sellers at LE 305.51 million.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 9.3 million, and LE 56.99 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 363.37 million.

Ismailia National Food Industries, El Arabia for Land Reclamation, and Acrow Misr were top gainers of the session at 9.61 percent, 9.48 percent and 9.42 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Arab Real Estate Investment CO.-ALICO, El Orouba Securities Brokerage, and Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co were top losers of the session by 9.88 percent, 7.88 percent, and 4.63 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday on mixed note, as: EGX30 decreased 0.25 percent, while EGX 50 hiked 0.69 percent, EGX 70 climbed 1.79 percent, and EGX 100 jumped 1.22 percent.
