Saeed's remarks came during her videoconference meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss results of surveys of income, expenditure, and labor, the Planning Ministry said in a statement.
 

Saeed noted that the survey offers a large amount of reliable data, which measures the standard of living of the family and the individuals, setting up databases to measure the poverty, and developing social protection programs as well as being a major indicator for inflation.
 

The minister pointed to the decline in the poverty rate to its lowest levels in 20 years from 32.5 percent to 29.7 percent, saying the ministry targets lowering the rate to 28.5% in the fiscal year of 2021/22.
