CAIRO - 17 May 2021: The Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Council of Ministers has published an infographic within the framework of the celebration of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2021 under the slogan "Accelerating digital transformation in difficult times."

 

The Information Center stated, through its page on the social networking site Facebook, that Egypt has made great achievements in this sector; Most notably: choosing the New Administrative Capital to be the Arab Digital Capital in 2021, and choosing Egypt among the 10 fastest growing countries for digital inclusion in 2020.

 

It stressed that this is a result of the efforts made continuously, including: the implementation of the first phase of the digital transformation system in Port Said Governorate, the launch of 60 services on the Egypt digital platform, the development of 1600 post offices, and others.

 

It pointed to the start of the celebration of World Telecommunication Day in 1969, on the occasion of the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union, and the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the urgent need to accelerate digital transformation around the world.

 

It said that modern technology has shown tremendous capabilities and advantages in running various aspects of life under the procedures of general closure. The celebration of the World Telecommunication and Information Technology Day this year comes under the slogan "Accelerating Digital Transformation in Challenging Times".
