BEIJING - 13 August 2020: China urged the international community to offer all needed humanitarian aid to Lebanon on the back of the Beirut blast which left behind thousands of people dead and wounded.
Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun took part in the international conference for backing Lebanon - which was held under the auspices of the French president via video conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said in statements to MENA on Thursday.
In his speech at the conference, Zhai has expressed deep sorrow over the massive Beirut explosion.
Zhao has urged the international community to boost humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.
China will continue offering all aid it can provide to support the Lebanese people, he said.
He added that China seeks to promote post-crisis reconstruction efforts, while giving top priority to contributing to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
