Arab League foreign ministers hold an emergency meeting on Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, in Cairo, Egypt December 9

CAIRO, March 11 (MENA) - The Arab League (AL) General Secretariat has stressed the importance of the role of the media in promoting relations between Arab and African peoples and increasing societal awareness on different challenges facing development in Africa.

Addressing the seventh international media forum for African media men, director of the AL media department Nasima Sharit pressed for the need to activate the media role to allow members of societies to reach understandings and hone the skills of the media to prepare generations able to deal with all communication channels.

For his part, Awani Qandeel, head of African Union for Media, called for presenting sound media reports to the Africans with highlighting the role of the media in confronting terrorism and drying up its resources.
