CAIRO – 5 March 2020: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry met with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi on Wednesday on the sidelines of the regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson Ahmed Hafez, the two minsters highlighted the close relations between the two countries and discussed ways of boosting the bilateral cooperation during the coming period.

Hafez stated that Shoukry stressed Egypt's support for the security and stability of the Arab Gulf states as part of the Egyptian and Arab national security, and asserted Egypt's disapproval of interventions in the affairs of Arab countries and allowing these interventions to negatively affect the security and stability of the region.

Hafez pointed out that the meeting also tackled a number of regional issues, including the developments in Palestine, Libya and Syria.
