CAIRO - 30 September 2019: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ashtayyeh said Monday that a ministerial delegation is visiting Cairo to promote economic cooperation under the guidance of President Mahmoud Abbas.

In his speech that came at the beginning of the Palestinian Cabinet’s meeting in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Ashtayyeh said the Palestinian government is ready to carry out the general elections once the president issues a decree.

Ashtayyeh thanked Saudi Arabia for its support to the Palestinian people by issuing a decision during its 76th annual meeting held in Jeddah to fund Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem Fund with $50 million to implement development projects in Palestine.

In September 2019, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed Egypt's keenness on the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state, in accordance with the international accords.

Sisi met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said, on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

For his part, Abbas expressed his appreciation for Egypt's efforts and historic unchangeable stance towards the Palestinian cause, highlighting the depth of relations between the peoples of the two countries.

Abbas also praised the Egyptian efforts to achieve reconciliation between Palestinian factions, affirming willingness to continue the coordination with Egypt on various issues of mutual concern, Radi said.

The presidents also discussed the developments of a number of regional and Arab issues.
