KUWAIT CITY, 2 September 2019: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's recent visit to Kuwait made headlines in Kuwaiti newspapers out Monday.

The Egyptian leader wrapped up his visit to the Arab Gulf country Sunday night after talks with Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah.

Kuwait's "Al Anbaa" newspaper highlighted Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining Arab security and stability.

It quoted the emir as having appreciated Egypt's efforts in this regard. Sheikh Sabah also hailed as "historical and strong" relations between Kuwait and Cairo.

The daily also quoted Sisi as having said that Kuwaiti and Gulf security is integral to Egypt's national security.

"Assiyasa" newspaper focused on security cooperation between the two countries, noting that it was a top issue on the agenda of the summit between the two leaders.

The summit talks also took up bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual concern, not to mention the latest regional and international developments, according to the paper.

It quoted spokesman for the Egyptian presidency Bassam Radi as having said that the meeting also tackled efforts to fight terrorism.

"Al Nahar" newspaper's headline read "Emir, Sisi discussed regional and international developments" during their summit talks.

It also shed light on other meetings Sisi had at his residence in Kuwait City with Kuwaiti parliament speaker Marzouq Ali Al Ghanem, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al Mubarak al Hamad al Sabah, Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al Khaled al Hamad al Sabah and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled al Jarrah. (
