PARIS - 6 September 2017: France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has has asserted his country's commitment to the two state-solution involving an independent Palestinian state.

Le Drian made the remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday.

They discussed the latest developments in Palestinian territories, settlement and Israeli policies that violate international law, it added.

Le Drian stressed that France condemns Israeli settlement in Palestinian territories as it would rule out the possibility of creating an independent Palestinian state, according to the statement.
