CAIRO – 27 January 2021: Haya Karima organization signed a cooperation protocol on Wednesday with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals to unify efforts of improving health services for rural communities.

The protocol dedicates financial support for the project to enhance social protection for the neediest families. It also aims to alleviate the pressure of the pandemic on people in the countryside.

The protocol was signed by Minister of Health and Higher Education Hossam Abdel Ghaffar and Nada al-Domiaty, head of the medical sector of Haya Karima initiative.

According to the protocol, all hospitals and units affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals will provide free medical services for cases referred by Haya Karima across the country.

The protocol also facilitates logistics, volunteers, and coordination with town councils.

“Haya Karima” is a national project to develop the Egyptian countryside. It started as an initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on January 2, 2019.

It was then transformed into a national project early in 2021 with the aim of improving the living conditions and the quality of life for the neediest categories of the rural society nationwide and contributing to advancing the level of daily services provided to citizens.

The “Haya Karima” project seeks to unify the efforts of all the state’s institutions in cooperation with the civil society, the private sector companies, and the development partners inside and outside Egypt in the sustainable development field.
