CAIRO – 21 December 2021: Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund Mahmoud Mohieldin praised the presidential development initiative “Haya Karima,” saying “it will open up endless job opportunities.”

On the other hand, he added that the expected growth rate for Arab countries is 4.4 percent, which is lower than global rates, warning that Arab economic growth is not sufficient to generate job opportunities.

In statements to ONTV, He stressed the need for diversification of Arab economies, saying it became a necessity.

He further praised the performance of the Egyptian economy, saying: “Egypt has maintained a good growth rate, but future expectations must considered.” He added that the indicators of international expectations for the growth rate in Egypt are all positive.

On his advice to the government to deal with the inflation crisis, he said: "what will get Egypt out of the problems of global inflation and high prices is not only monetary policies, but projects, investments and job creation… Egypt has already started on important large projects, but there must be more attention paid to increasing exports and investments.”

He added: "Egypt must solve export problems and obstacles, and partnership between the private and government sectors is important."
