CAIRO – 13 April 2022: The world celebrates the 52nd anniversary of Earth Day on April 22 of each year, and during this report we monitor the details of the celebration of this day.

At first, global environmental experts confirm that the growing interest in Earth Day has helped pass some legislation around the world related to environmental protection, in order to save endangered species, water and land since Senator Gaylord Nelson declared this day for the first time in 1970.

With the high impact of extreme temperatures, and the resulting forest fires and floods on the planet, and the Corona pandemic, the climate crisis has become a preoccupation for many countries and all governments and institutions.

In 2016, the United States of America, China and 120 other countries signed the so-called historic Paris Agreement, during the celebration of Earth Day 2016.

During the 1969 UNESCO conference in San Francisco, peace activist John McConnell suggested that there be a day to honor Earth and Peace.

For the first time, the world celebrated Earth Day on March 21, 1970, because it is the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere.

After that, a day was ratified, which they called the day to achieve the balance of nature, and the Secretary-General signed it at the United Nations, and they abandoned it after a month passed, so that Earth Day became a separate day in which environmental awareness is carried out.

And April 22, 1970, was designated as Earth Day in the United States, and Earth Day was made a world day in 1990, at which time 141 countries participated.

It is worth noting that many societies celebrate Earth Week, as a whole week in which many activities related to environmental issues facing the world are implemented.
