CAIRO - 20 March 2020: South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Hong Jin-wook invited Egyptian ministries and agencies working in the field of smart cities development to participate in a program for backing smart cities and nominating projects to be implemented under the international partnership program K-City 2021.

The K-City 2021 program is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea, according to a statement released by the Ambassador on Saturday.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will organize an introductory session on March 22, 2021 for interested parties from partner countries, including Egypt, where the introductory session will be broadcast on YouTube.

The ambassador said the program offers a great opportunity for expanding the partnership between Egypt and South Korea as it is considered a cooperation platform among governments with an aim to offer technical assistance to projects of smart cities and knowledge exchange.

The Korean ministry will select projects to be implemented by the program in the fields of smart city planning and offering smart solutions.
