Egypt to receive 4 pre-equipped health units; the 1st of its kind in Mideast

CAIRO – 18 March 2021: Egypt will receive four pre-equipped health units that are the first of its kind in the Middle East region, as part of the government’s plan to upgrade the health sector in Egypt. 
 
The announcement came as the Minister of Health Hala Zayed receives Charles Khoury, the Lebanese investor and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ecopat Industrial Development Company, to discuss cooperation in health sector in Egypt. 
 
Dr. Khaled Megahed, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, explained that the meeting discussed cooperation with the company to supply the ministry with pre-equipped health facilities to support the two comprehensive health insurance projects as well as the development of the Egyptian countryside villages. 
 
The four health units are smart buildings “steel structure” that are manufactured and installed to ensure speed and ease of implementation.
 
The four units are part of the first phase of a project to develop Egyptian countryside villages in a way that contributes to providing the best medical services in the field of primary care. 
 
The minister praised the construction pattern of the pre-equipped medical facilities and its safety and conformity with the Egyptian construction codes. 
 
“It also contributes to overcoming the time factor for the completion of projects in a record time, confirming President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's keenness to implement this pattern of establishments in health infrastructure development projects in Egypt,” read a statement by the Ministry of Health.
 
The minister further thanked "Charles Khoury" for his initiative to supply Egypt with pre-equipped health facilities to support the health sector, and his keenness to make Egypt a destination for investment and settling of this type of industries. 
 
She also highlighted the deep relations between Egypt and Lebanon. She also assured the Egyptian political leadership’s support to the Lebanese people, saying that "Lebanon is able to overcome the difficult times and the exceptional circumstances it is going through."
