CAIRO – 3 March 2021: Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that Pakistan and Egypt enjoy long-standing historical relations, and that his country seeks to enhance relations with Egypt.

Qureshi’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with the Egyptian ambassador Tareq Dahroug for Islamabad, where they tackled ways to strengthen bilateral relations between both countries, and they discussed issues of common interest.

Pakistani FM further added that the religious and cultural harmony between the peoples of the two countries make these bilateral relations stronger and more unique.

Qureshi said that Pakistan and Egypt share similar stances regarding some issues at international forums, indicating that the meetings he had held with each of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, during his recent visit to Cairo, were fruitful and beneficial.

For his part, Ambassador Dahroug thanked the Pakistani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shah Mahmoud Qureshi, and told him about the invitation extended by the Egyptian government to a high-level delegation of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry to attend the bilateral consultation session in Egypt.
