Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi periodically follows up development and service projects in Cairo.

Madbouli's remarks came during his meeting on Sunday with Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawy, Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, Housing Minister Assem el Gazzar and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal to follow up the implementation of service and development projects in the capital.

The premier lauded efforts of Cairo's Security Directorate and its city hall to eliminate slums and relocate their residents to decent residential units, said Spokesman for the Cabinet Nader Saad.

The prime minister was posted on progress made in removing buildings that obstruct development work at the Ring Road in Greater Cairo, the spokesman added.

In this regard, Madbouli gave instructions to compensate the harmed residents.

The spokesman said that the meeting tackled the work pace at the Khayala Residential Project, which is established on an area of 40 feddans in Cairo's El Basatin district.

The project comprises 2,525 housing units and includes all key services.
