CAIRO – 9 February 2021: The Egyptian parliament has approved Tuesday a grant agreement (technical assistance) between Egypt and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to develop the first line of Cairo metro line.

The agreement allocates 3 million and 5 thousand Euros as assistance, according to the agreement signed in 21st of October 2020.

The duration of the implementation of the project has been argued to be long. In response, the head of the Tunnel’s Authority ensured that time will be reduced from 6 years to only four years.

For his part, Parliamentarian Fathy Kandil called on connecting metro lines to all new cities in Egypt.
