Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected on Friday a number of road development projects in Greater Cairo - Presidency

CAIRO – 29 January 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected on Friday a number of road development projects in Greater Cairo, including the historic Old Cairo and new bridge networks.

During his tour, the president inspected a network of bridges already built to connect El-Hadarat axis with other main axes and roads in the capital.

“This comes as part of the comprehensive plan to develop the area of Ain El-Sira Lake and that surrounding the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Old Cairo,” the Presidency said in a statement, citing Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.

“These steps helped this area restore its glory and turn into a tourist attraction with a modern architectural designs and full services,” the statement added.

Sisi also inspected ongoing development projects in east Cairo’s Nasr City, Heliopolis and Autostrad Road.

The spokesman said Sisi also reviewed developments carried out in Sayeda Aisha area following the removal of all slums, adding that the families who lived in these slums were transferred to new cities.

“The families residing in these slums were transferred to the newly built cities. These cities were specially built for slums habitants, where they can be provided with a new, better and decent lives and all the services they need,” the presidency said.
