CAIRO - 25 January 2020: On Wednesday, Hurghada International Airport will receive a Russian security delegation to inspect the airport's security measures, all the security procedures followed inside the travel and arrival halls, and follow up on procedures for securing luggage and travelers.

The Russian delegation includes experts from the Russian Ministry of Transport, Aviation and Security.

The committee will follow up the security procedures, examine the inspection devices, ensure compliance with the safety ratios inside the airport, and apply the procedures to travelers to and from the airport.

A source said that the committee will spend a week in Hurghada to inspect the procedures at the airport.

The sources indicated that this committee is the last of the Russian inspection committees, as Russian tourism will return to Egypt during the first half of 2021, explaining that Egyptian airports are among the best airports in the world in terms of the security system.

The delegation’s visit is within a framework of inspection tours carried out by Russia to follow up on the latest procedures regarding with Russian aircraft before resuming air traffic and regular Russian and charter tourism to Hurghada resorts.

The primary reason for suspending flights with Egypt was the Russian plane disaster in October 2015, and the investigations in both Russia and Egypt have not been completed, the competent Russian authorities have proven that the crash was the result of a terrorist attack.
