CAIRO – 21 January 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has highlighted the need that the efforts of improving the environmental system be integrated with the state’s general strategy for the rational management of natural resources and environmental systems.

This comes especially concerning expanding the use of clean energy from natural gas and proceeding with the system of dealing with solid waste, especially construction waste, the Presidency said.

The efforts also expanding projects which help produce biofuels from waste.

Sisi’s remarks came in a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Planning Minister Hala El-Saeed, Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Mulla, Finance Minister Mohamed El-Maeet, Tourism Minister Khaled El-Enany, Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem and Environment Minister Yasmeen Fuad.

Sisi urged strengthening programs backing environmental awareness, community participation and youth engagement in this regard.

He also directed maximizing the green incentives provided to bodies, establishments and individuals contributing to improving environmental performance, the Presidency added.

Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad reviewed with the president the ministry’s efforts in several main axes related to reducing pollution and other fields, saying that these efforts have led to improving the state’s overall environmental indicators.
