CAIRO – 21 January 2021: Egypt has kicked off an initiative to follow up on Corona cases isolated at their homes across 10 governorates, and provide them with necessary medical services for their treatment.

The Ministry of health listed the governorates that are part of the initiative, as follows: Cairo, Giza, Qalubiya, Al-Sharqiah, Dakahlia, Alexandria, Kafr el-Sheikh, Gharbia, Menoufia and Beheira.

The ministry added that it is planning to expand the initiative to include more governorates in the coming period.

According to the ministry, this week has witnessed a decline in the infection rates by 18 percent compared to past week, stressing the need to adhere to precautionary measures.

The ministry has allocated the hotlines, 105 and 15335, to receive citizens' inquiries about the coronavirus and infectious diseases. This is in addition to the WhatsApp number, 01553105105, and the Egypt Health application available on phones.
